All fiberglass gratings should be securely fastened to their supporting structures to protect the grating and extend product life. Special clamps made of stainless steel are suitable for all fiberglass products. Clamps can be used to secure gratings or panels to supporting structures, or to fasten adjacent grating panels to minimize differential deflection due to loading.
When you install MIYA's fiberglass grating, you need to choose the right accessories. We offer a variety of fiberglass grating fasteners and hold-down clamps with varying benefits and installation flexibility.
In all cases, we have the fasteners and accessories you need for a quick, durable installation. We have an in-house fiberglass grating manufacturing department that can be customized to your specifications.
We supply specially designed attachments and clips to hold the panels together and secure them to the supporting structure.
Type M: Sometimes called an FRP saddle clamp, used to secure a panel to a support using two adjacent grill bars for a secure fit. This provides excellent holding power and is recommended for stair treads and most molded and pultruded fiberglass gratings.
L-shaped hold down clamps: For light duty use in securing grating panels to support frames.
Type G Hold-down Clamp: Designed to secure grating to any structural member flange 3/4 inch thick or less without drilling. When the bolt is twisted, the jaws of the clamp grip the support flange. The assembly is then completed using a heavier top clamp to carry the load. Provides excellent two-way clamping capability for molded square mesh FRP grating.
Pultruded C-Panel Clamps: Provides a simplified method for joining panel side bars that are butted end-to-end to minimize differential deflection when their joints fall between supports. C-clamps are also used in the grating leg system of the panel abutments. The lower nut is welded to the clamp so it can be installed from the top of the fiberglass grating floor. C-clips should be placed every 2′-3′ to meet industry requirements.
Depending on your grating application, you need to consider:
Surface Flatness: Do you move large numbers of carts, bags, and containers on your grate? If so, you'll want to choose recessed clips that don't extend beyond the surface. These avoid snags that can snag and tear bags and boxes and trap dust, string, and other debris.
Heavy Duty: If your grating is subject to heavy loads and frequently has carts, forklifts, and other vehicles passing by, then using fasteners with a larger surface area will increase the durability and stability of your grating.
Chemical and Moisture Resistance: If you choose our FRP grating to install in an environment with high humidity or the presence of chemicals, you will need fasteners and fittings that can resist damage and corrosion.
